Action Month!

and our "Loaves & Fishes" Campaign to Feed Siouxland

Throughout the month of September, Feeding America's nationwide network is calling upon their communities to take action in the fight against hunger.

Americans are encouraged to participate by attending local food bank events, donating time, money or their voice, participating in one of many corporate promotions and getting children involved as "Hunger Helpers." We'll be keeping you updated through out the month on our Facebook page!

This year, our annual campaign, "Loaves and Fishes," falls on Sunday, September 19. We believe that it is a biblical calling to help our hungry neighbor. Please ask your church to participate, no matter the size, because when everyone works together we can achieve a bigger outcome!

Loaves and Fishes

The focus of this campaign is to partner churches with the work of the food bank, fulfilling the biblical directive to feed the hungry. We ask area churches to conduct a second collection that day, and donate the proceeds to the food bank. Read more >>

 

"Will Golf for Food" Charity Golf Tournament

Individuals or teams of four sign up to play 18 holes, with cart, at Whispering Creek Golf Club. Registration begins at 11am with a shot gun start at noon. First, second, and third place prizes along with hole-in-one, door and pin prizes are given out at the dinner following the event. Hole sponsorships are $150 and are a great way to show the public that you support the efforts of the Food Bank of Siouxland. Donations of prizes and volunteer time are always needed and most helpful. Please join us in 2011 on Monday, August 1!

Help us fight hunger whether it's participating in one of our fundraising events, donating time or money, or advocating on our behalf. HUNGER KNOWS NO SEASON...

HOW TO HOST YOUR OWN

FOOD DRIVE OR FUNDRAISER EVENT

Fundraisers make an especially significant impact because for every $1 donated to the Food Bank, we are able to obtain $17 (retail value) worth of food.

A food drive could consist of a collection of a variety of non-perishable items, or you could focus on one particular item such as cereal, peanut butter, tuna fish, or macaroni and cheese. You can also collect personal care items, which are always welcome donations.

Donations of either food or money are always appreciated. If you prefer to donate money, you may send the check directly to the Food Bank, or click on the Donation button on the left to pay via PayPal.

Any contribution, no matter how big or how small, is greatly appreciated because it all helps us help those in need.
