The Crawford County Hunger Fighters dedicate their time to addressing the issue of food insecurity in the Crawford County area. The volunteers put on a food distribution event on the third Tuesday of every month. They operate with around 20 to 25 regular volunteers during food distribution days.
“We are proud to provide this service to the community.” Kathy Schneider, a
member of the Hunger Fighters.
The Crawford County Hunger Fighters Mobile Pantry began in 2013 and has grown to offer both a monthly mobile pantry and backpack program. In the beginning they served 80 families and have grown rapidly to serving 250 families in the Crawford County area. In 2020, Covid-19 forced them to develop a drive-thru system for picking up food at their pantry; this system is still in use.
The Crawford County Hunger Fighters have been partnering with the Food Bank of
Siouxland to help in the fight against hunger within the Siouxland community. We are proud to partner with such a great organization and champion of the community.
