The Food Bank of Siouxland dropped 481 ducks in to the Norm Wait Sr. YMCA pool for the 4th Annual KenDUCKY Derby headlined by Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City. The event raised $3,480 which equates to 17,400 meals for neighbors experiencing food insecurity.
The Grand Champion, Duck #394, was awarded 2 tickets to the Kentucky Derby on May 2 along with a $500 travel fund, generously donated by the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City.
“Supporting our local community is at the heart of what we do. We’re excited to be in the position to donate a pair of tickets to the 152nd Kentucky Derby for the KenDUCKY Derby and to stand alongside the Food Bank of Siouxland in their efforts to fight food insecurities,” said Shannon Pauling, Director of Marketing at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City.
The Silver and Bronze Ducky also received prizes donated by the Norm Waitt Sr., Bob Roes Point After, Hy-Vee, and AMC Theatres.
The Food Bank of Siouxland is grateful for all of the 2026 KenDUCKY Derby sponsors as well as those members of the community who participated.
