Frito Lay Donates Over 1,100 Cases of Product to the Food Bank of Siouxland

Frito Lay has generously donated a semi-trailer full of product to the Food Bank of Siouxland as a part of their Employee Appreciation Week.  

With a variety of nine different flavors of chips throughout the 1,175 cases donated, the Food Bank of Siouxland is excited and grateful to be able to distribute these products to neighbors facing food insecurity.  

“Everybody deserves a treat now and then,” says Valerie Petersen, Associate Director of the Food Bank of Siouxland. “It’s an awesome product to have in the warehouse, and it’s wonderful to be able to say, ‘Hey, just because times are tough doesn’t mean that you don’t deserve something fun too.’” 

Food bank shelves in Sioux City, Waterloo, and Rapid City all received product including: Doritos, Lays, Tostitos, Cheetos, Ruffles, Rold Gold, and more.  

The Food Bank of Siouxland distributes a wide variety of food to neighbors experiencing food insecurity. Within the 11 counties the food bank serves, one in 10 individuals don’t know where their next meal is coming from.
