Siouxland Food Festival Raises Over $50,000 for Food Insecurity

The Food Bank of Siouxland’s 3rd Annual Siouxland Food Festival sponsored by Seaboard Triumph Foods was recently held, June 7 at the South Sioux City Marriott Riverfront – Event Center and raised $51,496.

Over 500 event goers had the opportunity to purchase “Bite Tickets” and try out food from 11 local vendors with a variety of menus including: Mateo Kitchen & Catering, Patti’s Pit Stop, Hawks Coffee Shop, El Fredo’s Pizza and more.

“The support from our community means so much to so many. The Food Bank of Siouxland’s agency partners are experiencing a record high number of visits to pantries. To know that our community sees this and shows up is so meaningful. This was the best year yet for the Siouxland Food Festival, with our highest attendance ever, and we’re already looking forward to next year!” said Valerie Petersen, Associate Executive Director at the Food Bank of Siouxland.

With other programming including: inflatables, carnival games, a raffle, gift card wall, and a performance by One Fun Piano – there was fun for the entire family to enjoy.

All proceeds from this event go towards purchasing food for the agencies within the Food Bank’s service area. The Food Bank of Siouxland would like to thank all the generous sponsors, donors, event goers, volunteers, and vendors for ensuring this event was a success.
