The Food Bank of Siouxland is hosting the 22nd Annual Golf Classic presented by Wells Enterprises on Monday, September 8 at Whispering Creek Golf Club. For 22 years, this event has brought funds and awareness to the Siouxland community on how food insecurity affects their neighbors.
Teams and sponsorships ranging from $150 to $2,000 are available at www.siouxlandfoodbank.org/golf-2025. All levels receive promotional recognition and signage throughout the day of the tournament, and all teams receive 18 holes of golf with a cart, and dinner to follow. Those wanting to donate in other ways can visit the on-site food drive and receive a free ice cream treat, sponsored by Wells Enterprises!
The Rumble on the Range competition will once again bring together “Sioux”-lebrity duos in teaming up to kick off the Holiday Harvest program. The program is intended to distribute boxes of side dishes for families to focus their budgets on more pressing holiday expenses like bigger protein items, presents, transportation costs, etc. Each pair is assigned a specific menu item and, along with the chipping competition, build points based on how much they collect.
A part of Hunger Action Month throughout September, the Annual Golf Classic is just one of many activities the Food Bank of Siouxland is putting on to raise awareness for food insecurity throughout the community. All proceeds from this event will go towards the Food Bank of Siouxland’s goal of alleviating hunger throughout the area by providing access to nutritious food for all.
